May 12, 2009

Hello, Hello from not so sunny Florida! Yes it wasn't so sunny today for real. The atmosphere of my day seemed to follow suit. But that didn't stop me from working hard to fight the battle of the stink here in my home, car or where ever I go. I'm convinced the stink follows me always. Whether it's poop, vomit, gas, dirty dog, dirty lizard habitat, a clogged up toilet or many other options, it is here. Either that or my brain is slowly deteriorating from all the stinky poop smell (Isn't it like methane gas or something??) Come on 4 stinky boys, a dog and 3 in diapers!! It's the truth my nose has become very sensitive these days!

So before I go on to my gratitude list let me just go over a few of the days most memorable events. First and foremost, I overslept so most of the day I spent fighting to keep myself ahead of the game. And it was working for a while until I just was... well..overwhelmed with stinkys.

To start, Katelynn for the past few days has consistently been waking up screaming because of leaky diareaha pants. I can't blame her, its horrible! It is to the point of stipping her down, bathing her and clearing her bed of all sheets and blankets. Yes, it has been that bad everytime.

So this morning it was the same routine as the last few days. But Tuesday mornings I go to Bible study so any kind of accident like this really sets me back. At the time, I thought it's okay I'm ahead of schedule, I'll still make it on time. Yeah right! After trying to feed everyone, chase Nate around, Change his stink, get him dressed, throw diareaha stained laundry in the washer, hold Kate while she screams in my ear and get Joe set up with all his work somehow I manage to get Nate, Ally, Kate and myself in the car and go.

Well, I try to relax and not speed on my way to church. I get there, slide open my minivan door only to smell STINK and I think okay where is it??? I search, I can't find it so I go to unbuckle Kate and stick my finger right into it! Yes, she had gone on the way and it leaked onto her carseat and all over herself. I pull her out and it is falling all over the place! So naturally I go to find wipes, can't find them! Changing pad, none! I grab some grocery store ads, lay them down and find some Wet Ones hand sanitizer wipes to clean up with. Thank you Lord for some kind of wipe! It was a huge mess and poor Kate's little bottem was so red! I was about to leave and take everyone back home but I thought I need a break! It is my only hope for some kind of sanity today! So we all march into the nursery, drop off the kiddos, quickly clean up in the bathroom and I get about an hour of study. Although I sat there like a zombie and didn't really hear anything but blah, blah blah. I kept smelling stink! I'm smelling my hands, looking on my shirt and finally find it ON My pants! I find my wipes IN my purse and try to clean up. What a mess!

We come home ....Ally falls off a chair and busts her top lip AGAIN! I'm cleaning up the blood on her lip and Nate informs me he has a toot! It was really a poop! I clean him up and give Kate another Bath so her poor bum can heal, we eat lunch (well the girls and Nate throw most of it on the floor) and then everyone off to Nap, yes!

So that is where my gratitude list comes into play, after so many battles of stink and running around I need to refocus on the good and not the bad, here goes:

The girls slept for THREE Hours at nap, WHOOHooooo!

Nate told me about his stink 2x instead of pulling it off, "Maaaa, I do toot" WHOO hoo!

After we prayed at dinner tonight Nick said, "Every time we pray it make me feel like I'm in Heaven" Ahhh what a sweet thought!

Adam and I went to life group, enjoyed friends and time on our own!!

Nick finished his homework without complaint

Joe learned to play a song on his guitar, finished his work, chores and was very helpful to me today!

I'm sure I could come up with more but my clean laundry awaits!!

Tata for now!
